My daughter is on benefit, She saved up for two months to get £40 together as she wanted the best possible school shoes for her daughter Morgan who was starting nursery in September. As Morgan is a little tomboyish, my daughter asked the sales assistant to recomend a good strong shoe for her. She was advised that Ricosta 'Dolly' were an excellent buy as they were very strong and made from scuff resistant leather. Today after just 10 weeks we tried to return the shoes, as morgan had fallen over resulting in a patch of leather coming completely away from the toes of the right shoe the left one was pretty scuffed too. I was told by the sales assistants that "We do not take shoes back" and the only scuff resistant shoes we sell are for boys. My daughter was not informed of their non return policy before or during her purchasing of the shoes, and the assistant certainly at no point retracted the scruff resistant statement that she had used to part my daughter from her money. I will be paying a visit to trading standards about this matter. Buyer Beware. regards Linda Couldstone linda.couldstone@ntlworld.com
